I am new to this forum, and very excited to find a forum that talks football. I am a third year head coach looking to boost my teams offense. We have very little size and experience up front, and a lot of 5'9" 160 lb skill guys with decent speed. I feel like the spread is my best option. My QB has a good arm, smarts, and pretty good running ability. We have dabbled in the spread(mainly 2X2 ONE BACK), we run some zone read, speed option, traps, and vanilla zone. We check to bubble screens as well. I need some help in building on to our running game. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,
I am new to the sight I was getting some info around for the upcoming season. It is my sons first year of tackle football this year and I will be coaching. It is 5th and 6th grade football. I coached his flag football team for the last 2 years and as you all know flag football is a whole different animal to real football. I started out 2 years ago trying to compete with traditional offensive plays and teaching my boys the real game of football. After getting our but handed to us the first 2 games I quickly adapted to the trickery and misdirection plays of flag football. Anyway now its big boy football and I am in search of an offense that is easy to teach and one that we can compete with. I know the spread can be a bit complicated but I think it is the future of high school football. I came out of a high school that ran the "I" and you need size to be consistent. We live in a small school district so finding 5, 250 kids to play "O" line might be hard. I grew up in Ohio and to this day I am a Buckeye fan so I watch the spread every saturday. I see there is a nice Ebook for sale on the site that shows the concepts and formations. I will start there. Thank you all, I hope to chat soon.

Welcome GriffQB14 to the SpreadOffense.com forum! I think you have the right idea by starting with the e-playbooks available through http://www.SpreadOffense.com and then reading all the content in the 'How To' area of the same site. Also, the blog we offer: http://www.TheSpreadOffense.com as well as our online video library http://www.SpreadOffense.tv are great resources.

Keep spreading e'm!

Hey guys, stumbled onto this awesome site while doing some research.

My name is Tim, I've been around football for several years now, and been a fan since I could walk. I recently landed a coaching gig for a semi professional team. I'll be serving as the O-Coordinator and asst head coach. It'll be an experience, hoping for the best.
